Giovanna Battaglia: Optical Allusions

Giovanna Battaglia has a natural affinity for the surreal and the editorial "Optical Allusions" which she styled for the January issue of W Magazine is a knockout. Her reduction of the ogling men to a single eyeball slays me, so cyclopean. I love the opening line, too: "With bold strokes and graphic silhouettes, designers are harnessing art's power to challenge the eye." Ava Smith and Bette Franke posed for the optical overload while Roe Ethridge captured it on film. Seldom has black and white been more stimulating... Brava, Gio!

Come on, credit where it's due: The Residents.
(If you're thinking "Huh?", do a Google image search of "The Residents".)
Everything but the top hats...

Just saw more of this shoot on another site: there is a top hat! So I ask again: why has no credit been given to The Residents? Surely that's good manners as well as commonsense to avoid the charge of plagiarism?

Dalek, all stylists are inspired by various sources without attributing them in writing. Clearly Gio was inspired by The Residents, it's a tribute, not a rip off.

Tributes are attributed in other creative vocations, I see no reason why stylists should be exempt from this courtesy and professional requirement.
