Giovanna Battaglia Celebrates Vogue Italia 50th Anniversary

Giovanna Battaglia Celebrates Vogue Italia 50th Anniversary
By Francesca Berti

At the historic office of Condé Nast, at Piazza Castello 27 was organized a super glam party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vogue Italia. The event was the inauguration of "Vogue Archive — Celebrating 50th Anniversary of Fashion," an exhibition that wished to present the history of the Italian title, led by Franca Sozzani since 1988, with the most representative covers and the most beautiful editorials that have made Vogue Italia an institution.

The walls of an entire floor of the building were covered by 200 blowups of the most famous shots of the legendary models immortalized by photographers of the caliber of Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, David LaChapelle, and Steven Meisel, who signs each month the cover of Vogue Italia.

The exhibition will be open to the public for some guided tours from 22 September to 5 October and it can be accessed via http://www.vogue.it/partner/v50/.

For those who cannot attend it is possible still to take a trip among the images that have shaped the history of the costume and fashion of Italy by exploring the online archive (http://archivio.vogue.it), inaugurated with the exhibition.

Among the guests present at the evening: our Giovanna Battaglia in Marco de Vincenzo Spring/Summer 2015, Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, Anna dello Russo, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Riccardo Tisci, Donatella Versace, Frida Giannini, and Jeremy Scott just to name a few.

I noticed the Sofia cover, Francy, it looks amazing in large scale. It must have been fun to see all the covers that night, such a perfect tribute to this influential magazine.

I have always considered Italy as the motherland of fashion, just by the fact that there are many famous designers in this field. I love your blog, for various reasons. First, I believe that her clothing choices are very inspired especially as you highlight the perfect silhouette. Also, the color combinations are reflecting the latest trends in this regard.
